Charles “Charlie” R. Burritt, age 96, of Hemet, California for 34 years passed away, Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at The Village in Hemet, California. Charlie was born Thursday, December 4, 1913 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-1946. He was a dealer territory manager for Serwin Williams for 21 years. Charlie enjoyed shuffling, gardening. Some of his other hobbies were watching the Lakers, Angels and Dodgers games. He was preceded in death by his parents Hal Burritt and Lean (Weyker) Burritt, his first wife Mildred E. Burritt and his daughter Linda.
He is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Jean Chase Burritt; one son, Larry Burritt of Rochester, Minnesota; step-son, William Maxwell of Twinfalls, Idaho; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at McWane Family Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Interment will be private at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
