Elsie May (Goodman) George, age 79, of Hemet, California for 20 years, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at her residence. She was born October 7, 1931 in San Bernardino, California. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Russell Goodman and the late Genevieve Edna (Whitehead) Goodman. She worked as a clerk for UPS for 15 years. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Hemet.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd A. George. She is survived by her three daughters, Diana M. Ryder of Perris, California, Cheryl L. Schmoeger of Redlands, California, Terri L. McClelland of Bothell, Washington; one son, Dave I. Maddox of Hemet, California; three sisters, Irene Bradbury of California, Cathy Bowman of Riverside, California, Shirley Keeney of Pennsylvania; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at Community Christian Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2010, Pastor John Scott officiating. Interment will be private at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. The death of a parent often leaves us wondering why. I just wanted to share a scripture I found comforting. It was what Jesus promised at John 5:28 " Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in whichall thse in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."
