Helen M. Prescott, age 93, of Hemet, California passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Hemet Valley Medical Center. She was born December 4, 1916 in Oakford, Illinois. She was a resident of Hemet, Ca. for 31 years. She was a teacher for 44 years and was involved in starting a special education program in the Vista Unified School District. Helen enjoyed traveling, painting, and quilting. She was a member of the women’s club, the water aerobics, and the exercise program at Sierra Dawn. Most of all Helen enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving family: Harry Prescott, husband of 69 years; sons, Harold E. (Shirley Jane) of Bangor, Ca; Richard D. (Shirley Ann) of Hemet, Ca. 3 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at McWane Family Funeral Home, commencing at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 06, 2010.

Helen influenced and touched many lives throughout her lifetime; she was loved and well respected by family and friends and will be missed by all.

I am the step-daughter of Clement Armstrong. I never had the pleasure of meeting Helen and Harry in person but remember all the fond remembrances Clem and my mother, his wife Rena used to relate to me. I also was touched by the yearly Christmas cards Helen and Harry continued to send mom long after Clem's passing. I am so sorry that you have lost Helen and having just lost Mom in December, I know how easily the tears are probably coming to you all. I like think about how maybe right now, Clem, Rena and your beloved Helen are sharing laughter, joy, and love in their new bodies. God bless you till we see them again face to face. Liz Wernsing
