Russ & Nancy Ebersole & Family:

How thankful we are that we had that special visit with Lillian in her home on Dec. 30! She & George were such special people to us and our children in the Philippines. They epitomized what true servants of Christ should be. We thank our God upon every remembrance of them both!
You children and your families have been left a godly and rich heritage. We are praying for the Lord's comfort and grace for you all.
Loving greetings, Russ & Nancy Ebersole Ps. 73:23-26

To Georgia Lee, John, Donn, and Marilou,

We go back a long way. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to say that I have warm memories of your mom for my whole life. As young as I can remember, she was the most gracious and sweet person, always affirming and encouraging. My brother Tim and I stayed with your family for a couple weeks when Donn and I were in the second grade. You mom really made me feel at home.
Fast forward to our own missionary service when Kris and I studied Tagalog in Batangas province. Your folks were then living at Camp Calaca in the house they built on the grounds. The camp was "paradise" compared to that first time the ABWE MK's camped there in 1970. Again, your Mom was the same sweet person, always encouraging my wife and welcoming us to their home. Our Anne was just about 18 months old then, and I think she made your Mom miss her own grandchildren.
I also had the opportunity on several occasions to see your mom with Filipino co-workers. She was well-loved and respected, as was your dad. We always enjoyed our visits during that time they lived at Calaca. Alas, they retired, and left a big gap.

I had the privilege of being at my mom's bedside 7 1/2 years ago as she struggled with cancer. She died well, as I am sure Aunt Lillian did. Just this past week I told my dad about your Mom's passing. His mind is too confused to remember much. But when he could remember, he always spoke of your parents in the most glowing terms, they never had a conflict, and were dear co-workers.
I praise God with you for your mom, and I know your tears at this time are both sadness and joy.

With our Prayers,

Steve and Kris Holman

Susan Swieringa, Wernersville, PA:

The Toesnsfeldts were wonderful mentors and encouragers during my early years at Faith Academy. I remember one time when we had a break in at our house. Lillian came over and in her gentle, steady way talked us through the crisis until we once again had our trust firmly in the Lord. My thoughts are with you all during this time of remembrance.

Carolyn Justice:

The Toensfeldt family has always been special to our (Bonnell) family, and both Uncle George and Aunt Lillian were like a true uncle and aunt to me. I always saw the love of Jesus in the way they lived their lives. When I went back to the Philippines in 1975 on a short term mission trip, they hosted me for the 3 months that I was student teaching at Faith Academy, and built into my life even as I was a young adult. The last time I saw them was on a trip they made, stopping by the home of my husband and me early in our marriage. Again it was as though no time had gone by ... I look forward to seeing such special "family"/friends in Heaven someday. I am praying for you all as I know you are missing her greatly, too.
Love in Christ... Carolyn (Bonnell) Justice -- SPRINGFIELD, OHIO

Becki Durham Thompson:

Marilou, my prayers are with you and your family. I have so many fond memories of our years together in the Philippines. I always loved spending time with you, and having you come over to our house. You were a wonderful friend!
