Donald E. Atwell

August 19, 1923 - January 18, 2021

Donald (Don) E. Atwell, 97 of San Jacinto, California passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 18, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born Sunday, August 19, 1923 in Bronx, New York. He was the son of Samuel and Lucille E. Atwell. Donald enlisted in the U.S Navy, and served our country in World War II and the Korean War as a Navy Pharmacy Assistant. He married Virginia on April 14, 1946. Donald worked many jobs and was the owner of his own cleaning business after serving 16 years in the Navy. Donald retired and moved to San Jacinto in 1988. He was a loyal member of many organizations including Hemet Elks Club, American Legion in San Jacinto California, and was a member of the Hemet Barbershop Chorus. In his free time he enjoyed painting, ceramics, and woodworking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife Virginia and Son Alan D. Atwell. Surviving is his Daughter Alison V. Rolph (Andrew), Son Jason J. Atwell (Tina L), daughter in law Judith L. Atwell, Sister Barbara L. Sullivan, grandchildren Matthew R. Rolph, Meredith L. Rolph and many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at McWane Family Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2021.
